
We are proud to offer Low Impact Aikido for seniors and adults. Aikido is an internal martial art very similar to Tai Chi that offers numerous health benefits in addition to teaching great self defense! Our Low Impact program is designed for students who want all the benefits of training without the risk of falling and rolling.
Internal martial arts are proven to improve circulation, increase balance and mobility, and promote overall health. Our Low Impact Aikido class is taught with an emphasis on developing internal power through smooth, fluid motion.
Aikido was founded by Ueshiba Morihei, and emphasizes a concept called mutual harmony. He felt that the highest expression of martial arts was to be able to defend yourself without needing to seriously harm your attacker.
Classes are held Monday and Wednesday mornings at 8:00-9:00AM.
